Math (CCSS)

A full Grade 1–8 Mathematics curriculum aligned with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM) provides a structured progression of mathematical learning. Students develop foundational skills in number sense, operations, place value, fractions, and decimals in the early grades.

As they advance, the curriculum introduces algebraic thinking, ratios and proportional reasoning, geometry, statistics, and problem solving. Each grade level builds on previous knowledge to strengthen conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and real-world application. Lessons include guided practice, visual models, hands-on activities, and assessments to support student growth. The program prepares learners with strong mathematical reasoning and critical thinking skills for future academic success.

Students practice narrative, opinion, and research writing while developing critical thinking and communication skills. Lessons include guided reading, discussions, writing workshops, and assessments. This structured program helps students become confident readers, effective writers, and thoughtful communicators prepared for academic success.

Science (NGSS)

A full Grade 1–8 Science curriculum aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) provides a comprehensive and inquiry-based approach to learning science. Students explore key areas including life science, physical science, earth and space science, and engineering design. In early grades, students develop curiosity through observation, simple experiments, and basic scientific concepts.

As they progress, the curriculum emphasizes scientific investigation, data analysis, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving. Lessons integrate hands-on activities, projects, and collaborative learning. Teacher Resources, Assessments and Answer Keys

Scholar Spring’s Assessment and Answer Key resource for teachers (Grades 1–8) provides structured tools to evaluate student learning and support effective instruction. The program includes four term summative assessments to measure overall student mastery at the end of each academic term. Teachers also use eight formative assessments during the year to monitor progress, identify learning gaps, and adjust instruction. Each assessment includes complete answer keys and scoring guides to ensure accurate and consistent grading. In addition, teachers guide students in building a math portfolio containing classwork, projects, and problem-solving tasks, allowing educators to track student growth, reasoning skills, and long-term mathematical development.
